Science and technology is moving fast. It’s enabling innovation and changing the way we live. In Lower Hutt it’s helping us create good jobs, growing our economy and creating an efficient city with equal opportunities for everyone.
Te Wā Heke represents Hutt City Council’s activity in science, technology and innovation. It’s about being part of a community that’s working together to invent the future.
Te Wā Heke brings together our new and existing initiatives including:
- Te Wā Heke Festival (previously the Hutt STEMM Festival)
- Innovative Young Minds
- Hutt Science
- 1st Assembly
- Hutt City Libraries
- Smart Cities.
On 24-25 May 2019 at Te Wā Heke Festival, you can experience how technology is changing the way we live. See drones in action, learn about autonomous vehicles, see how an electric vehicle works, try weird and wacky future foods, play with robots and much more!
We’re busy creating this site, so check back soon for more details or sign up to our newsletter for updates on what we’re doing in science, technology and innovation, and stories from Council.
